Connor's New Shoes

The weekend before our trip, I took Connor shopping for shoes, and we picked out a nice Thomas the Tank Engine pair upon which we could could both agree. He loved them, and immediately they took precedent over Elmo's sandals.

However, as fate would have it, the shoes became separated due to an incident at daycare a couple of days prior to our departure, and one shoe could not be found. This led to another shopping excursion, and a new pair purchased.

Fortunately, the lost shoe resurfaced in a cubbyhole at daycare, and the happy Thomas shoes were reunited.

Connor's Bed

Yesterday we got Connor a new sheet and comforter set: BATMAN!

He seems to really like it.

In these pictures, he is posing while eating cheese crackers. He wanted to eat them in our bed, but I wouldn't let him, so he moved to his bed.

I had a hard time choosing the "best" one, so I posted all three photos.

Connor's First Trip Out West

Last weekend we journeyed cross country (in a plane of course) with Connor in tow. Here are a few pictures from his adventure.
Connor helps make breakfast (look at that multitasking!):

Connor took a tour of Japantown.

On Fillmore Street, a funny man stopped so that his bird could talk to Connor. Apparently the bird "really likes children."

Connor enjoyed lunch in a pizzeria down that same street.

This is the playground Connor visited twice during the trip, but never was able to stay long. (It had to do with the restrooms that were locked.)

Our Day in San Francisco

Here we are at Ocean Beach.

Across the road from the beach is Beach Chalet, which has a bit of history to it. Connor enjoyed a cool drink in the garden out back.

Aha! Haven't seen a dandelion in a while.

We ended our day at the Dutch garden located in the northwest corner of Golden Gate Park (officially named "Queen Wilhelmina Garden," I just learned).

Happy together ....

Connor at the beach in S.F.

Connor has officially visited the following states: Michigan, Alabama, Tennessee, Nevada, and California. He has traveled through Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio. He has been on an airplane for two round trips (U.S. to Japan, and Memphis to S.F.) and he took a one way from Michigan to Jackson, MS.

Early Morning Playground

Connor wants to go outside at all times of day, and this morning I obliged by taking him out before seven. This is the small playground at the apartment complex where we're living for the next couple of weeks 'til we move into our new house. This weekend a cold front came through, making it chilly enough for long sleeves.

Connor the Baby

After each bath, Connor enjoys wrapping up in a baby towel and pretending to be a baby. We humor him because it is a stress-free way to get him out of the bathtub. Then we marvel at the rapid metamorphosis he makes from baby to "big boy."

Two Years and Counting

Connor's been busy, starting nursery school full-time and making the playground circuit in his free time. He just finished his first full week at La Petite, where he is with the "Early Preschool" set. While he's still adjusting, the other kids know his name, and he has a couple of friends he likes to play with especially (Aiden and Madison). He's fully potty trained. Last weekend he enjoyed his first full length feature, "Elmo in Grouchland," followed a few days later by "The Muppets Take Manhattan." He loves visiting the playground, particularly at the city park where there are always lots of other kids playing. A current favorite book is one we got at the library last weekend, "Happy Dog Sad Dog:" (big dog, little dog, clean dog, dirty dog, happy dog, sad dog, hairy dog, bald dog, lots of dogs, no dog). He can "read" it himself. Pictures to come!

First day of "School"

Here Connor is on his way to his first day at La Petite Academy.
